Promoting Your App On Instagram

Step 1

When you have your post ready to go all you need to do is press the plus button on the bottom bar.

Step 2

Now select the image you are posting (how about the free one from your free promotional material).

Make sure this centred correctly and if you wanted to zoom in you can do this until you are happy with your image.

Then click the Arrow on the top right.

Step 3

This is where it gets fun.

You can add different filters to your images to make these stand out.

Once you have your desired filter just press the next button on the top right.

Step 4

Now it is time to add your caption.

Let everyone know about your app or business.

You can add a location to your caption or hashtags.

Also here is where you can post the same image to Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr saving you time promoting your app.

Then when you are finished just click the Share button top right.

Step 5

You did it!

It was that simple to add a post to Instagram and now all of your followers can see your post.

We would recommend adding Hashtags to your posts to increase the amount of views this gets.

Here is some information on this.

You can add hashtags in the caption or comments of your post. If you have a public account and add hashtags to a post, the post will be visible on the corresponding hashtag page.

To tag a photo or video with a hashtag:

  1. Take or upload a photo or video.

  2. Choose to add a filter, then tap Next.

  3. Tap Write a caption... and type # followed by text or emoji (example: #flower).

  4. If you want to add a hashtag to a post you've already uploaded, edit the caption or include your hashtag in a comment on your photo.

After you tag your post with a hashtag, you'll be able to tap the hashtag to see a page that shows all photos and videos people have uploaded with that hashtag.

Things to keep in mind:

  • When people with private profiles tag posts, they won't appear publicly on hashtag pages.

  • Numbers are allowed in hashtags. However, spaces and special characters, like $ or %, won't work.

  • You can only tag your own posts. You can't tag other people's photos/videos.

  • You can use up to 30 tags on a post. If you include more than 30 tags on a single photo/video, your comment won't post.
